I've just started watching Duck Dynasty in the last few months. It is a show I like, which I mentioned in an earlier blog post. It portrays a family in Louisiana which has a company that makes duck calls. Of course, it is a reality show, based on Dad Phil with his wife, Kay, three of the sons and their wives, and Phil's brother Si, a Vietnam vet.
The theme song of the show is "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top. However, the show has also inspired others to come up with their own songs, tributes to the show and the cast. I recently checked out some of them on YouTube.
You might want to give a listen to "The Duck Man," by Chuck Redden. It's an uptempo song that lets you move to the beat. Not bad.
Another is "Real Job" by Todd McCall, a song which appears to also serve as a job application, as he writes and sings about going to West Monroe, Louisiana, to see if they have a job available for him. So what happened? Did he go? Did he get a job? We need information here, people.
Then there is "The Duck Dynasty Song," written and sung by Amanda Ryan. It's a cute video as she plays guitar and singing while wearing a camo shirt and jeans. Her back up singer wears a t-shirt with Phil's saying, "Happy, Happy, Happy," emblazoned on the front.
This led me to check out the company's on line shop to see what they had for sell. Of course, the shirts worn by the two girls are on there, along with a lot of other things. But I will have to say that my favorite was the Willie Chia, the Robertson Chia pet. For just a few dollars you can have one and watch Willie's beard grown in that alluring Chia green. Now that is something that fairly shouts, "I am a Duck Dynasty Fan."
Not that I want one, mind you. I am notorious for having a brown thumb. It is entirely possible that the Chia's beard will turn brown and die, and I'll be left with a Willie with no beard. Not good.
I am such a DD fan. I didn't watch it at all until my daughter told me how much she loved the show.
ReplyDeleteNow, I don't miss an episode and am taping (DVR) all the back episodes to watch.
Love it!!!
Hugs,
J.
I just started watching it when the new episodes began in the fall, but I was able to catch back episodes when they had a marathon showing of all episodes soon after. I do like it. And it's a show my son and his family watch as well. - Karen
